Walthers HO Scale PM Caboose #A471

 

Since Walthers introduced its DM&IR "G2" wood caboose a few years ago, a number of modelers have been repainting them as PM cabooses to make a "close enough" model of a couple of series of the PM's wood cabooses.

While the details do not match exactly in several respects, this model is the closest plastic model being made in HO scale at the moment. Walthers released this model in December, 2015, painted as PM #A471. An article describing a number of steps one can take to make this car look more like a real PM caboose is in the July-August, 2015 issue of PM Tracks.
