One of the final paint scheme proposals that EMD prepared for the 1946 Pere Marquette streamliner.
This one is quite a bit closer to what the PM actually decided to use. The major differences are in the way the yellow "bow waves" terminate on the nose (in the final design, they didn't meet), the lack of the rectangular herald on the nose, and the lack of the yellow stripe terminator at the rear of the locomotive.
It looks as if EMD was also proposing the addition of stainless steel fluting along the bottom of the locomotive, similar to that found on the Burlington's E5As. The PM elected not to do that, and instead painted blue stripes on an "imitation aluminum" background along the bottom of the locomotive.
