PM Pacific #722 at Detroit, Michigan in April, 1940

The core of its passenger fleet until the arrival of the diesels, the PM owned more Class SP-3 Pacifics than any other class. These twelve locomotives, delivered from Alco's Brooks works in 1921, held down the mainline passenger assignments until 1949.

Number 722 is shown here at the coaling dock in Detroit on April 5, 1940.
