The 0-6-0 was a popular wheel arrangement for industrial switchers, and on the PM formed the backbone of the switcher fleet which served the PM's smaller customers in its larger cities. Many larger businesses found the 0-6-0 to be a desirable switcher for use on their own property, too, and this one ended up being sold in 1947 to one of the PM's customers, the Portland Cement Company in Lamson, Michigan.Number 473 is shown on a sunny day at Detroit in July, 1937.
