PM NW2 #53 at Saginaw Yard in 1949

 

A member of the PM's first batch of NW2 switchers, number 53 is shown here at Saginaw Yard in March, 1949. Note the extensions that the Pm added to the exhaust stacks. As delivered by EMD, these locmotives had short stacks which let exhaust fumes waft easily into the cab.

Number 53 was renumbered 5277 in 1955 and transferred to the B&O in 1976. It remained on the roster until 1985.
