C&O BL2 #1844 at Croswell, Michigan in October 1961
It was famously involved in a wreck while plowing snow near Hamilton, Michigan in 1959, when the plow it was pushing derailed at a grade crossing and #1844 ran up underneath it, destroying most of the cab. When #1844 was rebuilt, it received windshields from an F-unit, giving its windshields a unique shape among the C&O's BL2s.
Note also the horn mounted to the roof on the engineer's side of the cab- this was also unique to the rebuilt unit.
