PM SW1 switch engine #10, at an unknown location in September of 1952. Number 10 was repainted into the blue/red/yellow scheme after the second batch of NW2s arrived following World War II. This 600 horsepower switcher served the PM and the C&O chiefly in the Grand Rapids, Port Huron, and Traverse City areas.
By the time this photo was shot, #10's handrails had been modified to more closely match those of the PM's NW2 switchers.
