The nose of PM switch engine #10, at Wyoming Yard in Wyoming, Michigan circa 1958. Number 10 was the first diesel purchased by the PM, arriving on the property in 1939 in black paint similar to that currently worn by PM #11 in Baltimore. Number 10 was repainted into the blue/red/yellow scheme after the second batch of NW2s arrived following World War II. This 600 horsepower switcher served the PM and the C&O in the Grand Rapids, Port Huron, and Traverse City areas.
Number 10 was traded to EMD and scrapped in September, 1964 never having worn C&O paint./
