River ferries PM 10 and PM 12 provided the last carferry service for the C&O and CSX on the run between Port Huron and Sarnia, Ontario.
PM 12 (left), was built in 1927 and had a capacity of 27 cars. She spent her first years in service at Port Huron, until in 1932 she was reassigned to Detroit-Windsor service. Ferry service at Port Huron was discontinued in 1933, but was reinstated by the C&O in December, 1953, at which time PM 12 returned to Port Huron.
PM 10 (right), was built in 1945 and had a capacity of 27 cars. She spent her first years in Detroit-Windsor service, where she stayed until that service was discontinued in 1955. At that time, she was moved to Port Huron to be used as the primary ferry on the St. Clair River crossing. She is currently laid up alongside the yard at Port Huron.
